Experience in the catering industry since 2004
Kira Weckman

I am from Sipoo, where I grew up in the countryside, close to the nature. Ever since childhood I have been foraging for berries and mushrooms, fishing and hunting together with my family. When I was 2-years old I told my parents I would become a chef. I have always loved all kind of food and I’m not afraid to taste exotic foods. I love eating and preparing Asian, Italian, French and South American flavours. Scandinavian and Finnish pure food is ,however, closest to my heart.

The journey towards my dream of becoming a chef started in 2004 in Perho Culinary School, where I started to compete in cooking competitions, in addition to studying and working. In 2009, I decided to study Hotel and Restaurant Management in Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences. At Haaga, I got multiple opportunities to develop my professional skills. I participated for example in The Golden Coffee Pot Junior Chefs Challenge in Dubai. Encouraged by my teachers, I applied to study French gastronomy at the Institut Paul Bocuse in Lyon France for the summer of 2010. This summer changed my life in many ways. I learned many valuable recipes and skills, which I can now use in my work. I met many wonderful friends from around the world. I also found the love of my life.

When I got back home from France, I joined the Culinary Team of Finland. This meant that I spent all of my spare time practicing for competitions.

After graduating from Haaga-Helia I got the opportunity to participate in the third season of Top Chef Finland. I spent a long time thinking about whether to participate. Encouraged by my family, I finally decided that I would. I have no regrets about making that decicion; the experience was truly unique and unforgettable!

Nowadays I have my husband Michel by my side. Together we are fulfilling our mutual passion, cooking, through our own company.

About us

Our paths crossed while studying in Institut Paul Bocuse in France 2010. It was love at first sight and our mutual interests made our relationship stronger throughout the summer. We started dreaming about having our own company early on. After a long distance relationship of 6 months, Michel finally arrived to Finland in February 2011. Once Michel survived the shock of the freezing weather and the snow, we decided to start our own catering company in Finland.

Michel Garzon

I am from Bogota, Colombia. Since I was a child I’ve been interested in food and cooking. After graduating from High School I decided to make it my profession. So, in 2009, I graduated as a chef from the Instituto Superior Mariano Moreno. I did catering for many big Colombian companies while I was studying. In 2010, I got the opportunity to go and study French gastronomy at the Institute Paul Bocuse World Wide Alliance Programme in Lyon, France. During my career I have worked in many different kinds of restaurants; in Colombia, Finland and France. My favorite foods are Argentinean BBQ and Brazilian Rodizio. I love barbequing and my specialties are juicy BBQ-Ribs and Chorizos.

We are both professionals in the catering and restaurant field. Together we have over 10 years of work experience. This family business is based on a mutual passion: Food.
